Damalie Tibugwisa is a seasoned Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and the Managing Partner at TARA Advocates, an award-winning commercial law firm. With over 14 years of legal and advisory experience, she is a multi-qualified professional serving at the intersection of law, governance, business, and family wealth preservation. She is also a Chartered Secretary, Registered Insolvency Practitioner, Trademark Agent, Certified Legal Auditor, Certified Workplace Coach, Commissioner for Oaths, and Legal Trainer. Her practice spans corporate and commercial law, labour and employment law, tax, estate planning, corporate governance, legal audits, insolvency, and intellectual property.

Damalie holds a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Quantic School of Business and Technology, and is completing a Master of Laws (LL.M) at Makerere University. She is also a Certified Family Enterprise and Wealth Management Specialist from Columbia Business School, reflecting her growing focus on family governance, succession planning, and generational wealth preservation.

Her additional professional training includes studies at internationally recognised institutions such as the Chartered Governance Institute (UK), London Business School (Certificate in Brand Management and Alignment), WIPO Academy (Certificate in Intellectual Property), and Train With Clarity Kenya (Certificate in Legal Audit).

She is a contributor to legal and business thought leadership, with publications featured on platforms including the Uganda Legal Information Institute, CEO East Africa Magazine, New Vision, the TARA Advocates website, and LinkedIn. Her writing and speaking engagements frequently explore corporate governance, estate planning, family wealth structures, leadership, and business continuity.

As a transformative leader, Damalie has grown TARA Advocates from a small practice into a high-performing commercial law firm with a strong reputation for excellence and innovation. Under her leadership, the firm has received industry recognition and awards. She has served as President and Vice President of the BNI Integrity Chapter, sits on boards, and acts as Company Secretary for several organisations.

She is an active member of professional and business associations including the Uganda Law Society, East Africa Law Society, Business Network International (BNI), and The Boardroom Africa.

Damalie is deeply passionate about legal education, mentorship, and capacity building.
